Orchetree Trademark Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
The Orchetree software is open source under Apache-2.0. That license does not grant general rights to the Orchetree name, logos, or visual identity. These identifiers distinguish the official project and services from independent forks and providers.
Uses that do not require permission
- Truthfully referring to the Orchetree project or software.
- Saying that a product is “built with Orchetree,” “powered by Orchetree,” or “compatible with Orchetree.”
- Linking to the official repository or website.
- Identifying the origin of a fork and clearly explaining how it differs.
- Redistributing an unmodified official release under its correct name without implying a separate endorsement.
Uses that require permission
- Using an Orchetree logo as part of another product, company, service, or event identity.
- Naming a domain, package, application, hosted service, or modified distribution in a way likely to appear official.
- Calling an independent offering “Orchetree Enterprise,” “Orchetree Cloud,” “Official Orchetree,” or a confusingly similar name.
- Claiming certification, sponsorship, partnership, or endorsement.
Forks and hosted services
Apache-2.0 permits commercial forks and hosted services. Use a distinct name and visual identity. You may accurately state that your offering is based on or compatible with Orchetree.
Logos and brand assets
Unless an asset explicitly states otherwise, Orchetree logos and brand assets are not licensed under Apache-2.0. Contact hello@orchetree.com for permission.
The repository trademark policy applies to users receiving the source or packaged software.
